Colonels Close Out 2021 By Hosting Alice Lloyd

RICHMOND, Ky. –

Eastern Kentucky will close out 2021 by hosting Alice Lloyd on Friday at McBrayer Arena.
 
The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. and will air live on ESPN+.  The live radio broadcast of the game is available in the Richmond area on WCYO 100.7 FM, and can be heard worldwide on EKUSports.com.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
–  EKU is 1-0 all-time against Alice Lloyd College.  The only meeting between the two teams was on Nov. 19, 2019 in Richmond.  The Colonels won 99-63. 
 
–  Russhard Cruickshank had 14 points, five assists and three steals in that game.  Michael Moreno finished with 14 points, four rebounds and three assists.
 
THE COLONELS
–  Eastern Kentucky is 7-6 this season after beating Northern Kentucky, 81-68, in overtime on Dec. 18.
 
–  The Colonels’ game against Bryant University, scheduled for Dec. 22, was canceled due to multiple positive COVID-19 test results among Bryant players.
 
–  Cooper Robb finished the game against NKU with 19 points, five rebounds, four steals, two assists and one block.
 
–  Curt Lewis recorded his second double-double of the season, and third of his career, with 13 points and a career-best 13 rebounds against Northern Kentucky.
 
–  EKU is first in the ASUN, and first in the nation, in 3-pointers per game (12.85).  Eastern Kentucky is also first in the country in 3-pointers made (167) and attempted (465).
 
–  Devontae Blanton leads the ASUN Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.58.  He has 49 assists and 19 turnovers this season.  He is eighth in the ASUN with 3.77 assists per game.
 
–  The Colonels are 10th in the nation in tempo, while ranking fifth in steals (139), seventh in steals per game (10.69/game), ninth in turnovers forced (18.85) and 13th in turnover margin (+5.85).
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
–  Alice Lloyd is 14-0 this season, but has lost two exhibition games to NCAA Division I teams.  The Eagles lost to Northern Kentucky, 91-55, on Dec. 12 and to Morehead State, 87-47, on Dec. 18.   
 
–  ALC beat Asbury University, 93-85, on Wednesday.  Damon Tobler, a 6-foot-4 sophomore guard from Philadelphia, hit 11-of-13 from the field, scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
 
–  Cumecus Cates, a 6-foot-2 sophomore guard, made five 3-pointers and finished with 19 points and six rebounds.  Noah Young, a 6-foot senior guard, had 17 points, five assists and three rebounds.
 
–  Alice Lloyd shot 48 percent from the field for the game and 47 percent (9-of-19) from 3-point range.
 
–  As a team, ALC is averaging 82.5 points per game and shooting 49 percent from the field for the season.  The Eagles have out-rebounded their opponents by 8.2 boards per game.
 
–  Tobler and Will Philpot lead the team in scoring at 12.6 points per game.  The duo is shooting 55 and 62 percent from the field respectively.  Philpot also leads the team with 10.2 rebounds per game.  Young is contributing 11.8 points and 5.3 assists per game.
