The Budapest based contemporary label AERON is seeking to recruit a Knitwear Programmer/Technician for the operation of its digital Shima Seiki knitwear machine as part of their Knitwear Development Team.
We are looking for a skilled programmer who is familiar with Shima Seiki machines and proficient in programming via the APEX4 3D design system. The ideal applicant should have good professional knowledge of Shima Seiki WHOLEGARMENT machines, should be able to communicate well in English, and be able to convey knowledge to others.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop new and existing samples in accordance with the Design team’s specifications
- Create computer programs for sampling and production
- Define and implement best programming practices keeping design, quality and efficiency at the highest possible level
- Work closely with internal teams such as Development, Design, Sourcing and Production
- Help the Design team evaluate new yarns and fabrics to meet the company’s standards
- Create technical documentation for knitted garments
- Advise designers and developers on different possible knitting techniques
- Run tests on the machine with innovative types of yarns and experiment with new knitting techniques
- Install, set and adjust the machines for the best possible performance
- Check and repair machines by replacing out of date and defective parts
- General maintenance of the machines such as cleaning and oiling
- Quality check the ready garments
- Inspect products to ensure that specifications are met and to determine if machines need adjustment
- Trim and cut garment components and fabrics as well as assemble knitted garments as needed
- Manage both sampling and production processes on the machines
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years experience in operating and programming flat knitting machines
- Minimum 2 years experience in operating and programming Shima Seiki WHOLEGARMENT machines
- Minimum 2 years experience in mechanical maintenance and electrical maintenance of knitting machines
- Proficiency in APEX 3 or 4 3D design systems
- Ability to work independently, yet collaboratively
- Excellent time management skills
- Cooperative and a team player with strong social and communication skills
